Description
No. 1 Pant Glas is a late 19th century house that includes an attached former woollen factory. The house faces the street, while the factory is located in the rear wing. It features two storeys and a three-window range, with painted lined-out stucco. The windows are 12-pane timber sashes with slate sills. The central entrance has a four-panel door with a narrow two-pane overlight above. The roofs are pitched and slated, with boxed eaves and rendered brick end stacks. The right gable end is made of slate rubble and has one window on each storey, positioned to the left, with cambered brick heads. A plain timber barge board is also present.
The forecourt is enclosed by a dwarf stone wall topped with slate coping, and it is bordered by robust cast iron railings featuring foliate tripartite spearheads.
The factory range at the rear is constructed of rubble and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high with a four-window range. The first floor has 16-pane sashes in the outer bays and 16-pane casements in the inner bays. On the ground floor, there is a 16-pane casement in the third bay from the left, and a probable former door in the first bay, which has been blocked with stone and cement. Cambered yellow brick heads are used throughout the building. There is a small stack on the north side of the roof, located between the third and fourth bays.
The property has not been inspected.
