Description
Greenfield is a late 19th-century house that stands two storeys tall and features three bays. It is constructed from coursed stone with quoins at the corners, topped by a pitched, slated roof and stone end stacks. The windows are painted timber sashes, with cut stone voussoirs and slate sills, typically consisting of six panes, although the outer four panes are narrower. The central first-floor window has plate glass sashes.
The recessed central doorway, which also features similar voussoirs, has timber reveals and contains a painted panelled timber door with a glazed upper panel and a narrow overlight. The cut stone stacks are adorned with paired yellow terracotta pots. The right end of the house has a timber bargeboard and two small windows with marginal glazing set to the left.
There is a contemporary lower rear extension made from matching materials, which includes a nine-pane sash window on this side, along with a former door beneath a timber lintel at ground level, and a marginally glazed sash window set to the right above. The left side of the extension has a canted angle and projects from the gable end. A ground floor boarded timber door is set into the angle, with a tripartite, marginally glazed sash window above it, both featuring painted stone sills and cambered yellow brick heads. The left end has a small ground floor opening with a cambered brick head. The bargeboard has been replaced with plastic, and the roof has a gentle pitch. The property has not been inspected.
