Description
A group of three houses, now offices and a dwelling, dating from the early to mid-18th century with later alterations. The construction is of coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled stone slate roof and brick end and ridge stacks, with one ridge stack finished in brick. The building is a long range with rear wings. It is two storeys and an attic, with a seven-window front. The central, symmetrical three-window section features a mid-19th century six-panel door with an overlight, set within a moulded wood architrave incorporating panelled reveals and a bracketed flat hood. Above this are tripartite sashes, and two early 20th century gabled and hipped roof dormers. To the right is a two-window range with a similar door and architrave, an early 20th century bay window, two early 19th century eight-pane sashes on the first floor, and a hipped roof dormer. To the left is a carriage entry with a 19th century plank door, followed by a two-window range with timber lintels over early 19th century eight-pane sashes above late 19th century two-pane sashes. The rear includes a central 19th century outshut and wing, an 18th century wing extended in the mid-19th century, and another 18th century wing to the left. A long 18th century range, likely part of a former blanket-making factory, is located to the rear left. The interior consists of 19th and 20th century features, including an early 18th century butt-purlin roof to the main range. The rear wings were not inspected.
