Description
The L-plan range of outbuildings at Caegwyn is constructed from rubble stone and features slate roofs. The building is partly lofted, with the roof hipped at the southwest corner. The southern range, which has a roof truss dated 1794, shows some whitewash on the north side and east gable. The north side includes timber lintels above a boarded window to the left and double doors to the right of center. The east gable end has a door with a timber lintel to the left. The southern side was altered around 1900, featuring two full-height openings on the left and center, with the center opening breaking the eaves under a catslide roof. There is a window to the right, with yellow brick jambs at the main openings and above the window.
The western range extends north and includes a full-height opening at the extreme left where it meets the southern range, with a brick structure from the 19th century to the right. There is a small ground floor square window with a timber lintel to the right of center and a pair of broad cart entries to the right, which have oak lintels and a square stone pier between them.
The southern range contains three pegged tie-beam and collar trusses, one of which is marked 1794 DT. A stone dividing wall separates the eastern end room, which is closest to the house, and is plastered with slate slabs, used for dairying. The western range features a cart-shed at the northern end, a blocked rear door, and a loft above. The barn to the left has opposed doors, three tie-beam trusses with collars removed, and one collar truss supported on the first beam of the southern range.
