Description
The dovecote northwest of Coleman Farm is a 17th-century circular structure made of rubble stone. It features a corbelled stone shallow dome with a circular hole at the center. The dome is currently covered with turf, but it likely originally had a conical roof. There is a low south-facing doorway with stone voussoirs.
Inside, the circular space measures approximately 2.75 meters (9 feet) in width and 5.8 meters (19 feet) in height. The interior is lined with around 236 dove holes arranged in 11 tiers, with 10 tiers below a shelf and one tier above.
