Description
Brook House is a house built in the 1930s, featuring a white-painted render. The structure has three bays, with the outer two bays set diagonally to the center and bowed, creating a kidney-shaped variant of a butterfly plan. It is two storeys high and has a parapet, metal windows, black painted sills, and a shelf cornice above the central door.
The outer bays contain 6-light metal windows with top-lights, where only the outer three lights are curved and fixed, while the others are casements. The middle bay has a 3-light window on the first floor, designed to provide narrow outer lights, with top-lights above the opening casements.
Access to the recessed door is via three semi-circular steps, which feature a plain raised surround and a flat shelf cornice above. The door itself has three glass panels. The side walls of the house are windowless. The interior was not accessible during the survey.
