Pont Dolauhirion (partly in Cilycwm community)

Pont Dolauhirion is a Grade I road bridge, constructed from rubble stone and featuring a single arch that spans approximately 25 meters and is 3.6 meters wide. The bridge rises high above the River Tywi, supported by natural rock abutments. The broad elliptical arch is made of large cut stone voussoirs, while the spandrels are constructed with very thin courses of masonry and include large circular holes, also featuring cut stone voussoirs. The abutments are slightly stepped out and splayed. The roadway is humped, with ramped parapets made of somewhat cruder masonry than the bridge itself, topped with stone slab coping stones. Notably, in the center of the southern parapet, there is a slate coping stone inscribed with 'Thomas Edward 1773'.
