Description
Llwyncelyn is a house built of rubble stone, featuring steep slate roofs with stone ridge chimneys. It is one and a half storeys tall and has a square plan, with a front range gabled to the left and a parallel rear range. The building showcases a picturesque gabled style, complete with fretted bargeboards and timber finials. The windows are adorned with stone voussoirs, keystones, and stone sills, which are made of two different types of stone, possibly indicating different phases of construction. The windows are casements with top-lights.
The house has two main facades, each with a gable on one side. The east front, facing the river, features a gable to the left, while the north front, facing the road, has a slightly projecting gable to the right at the end of the west rear range. The east front gable includes a cross-window above a three-light window, and the range to the right has two-light windows on each floor, with the upper window located in a bargeboarded stone dormer gable. The north front gable also has a cross-window above a three-light window, and the range to the left features a plank door with cover strips set in a bargeboarded gabled porch supported by two chamfered posts, along with a cross-window to the left.
On the rear west side, there are two stone dormers at the eaves, both with bargeboards and finials, and a central cross-window that lights the stairs. The south end has two gables from the parallel ranges, with the left gable being asymmetrical, suggesting possible remodelling. The left gable features one two-light window on each floor, positioned slightly right of centre, with the lower window being wider and dating from the 20th century. The right gable has one cross-window on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
