Description

This is a cast-iron milepost from the late 19th century, featuring a triangular shape on a square base, with a hollow back and a pyramidal head. The base is marked with "Old Foundry Co Carmarthen." The left side indicates distances to Llandyssil (8+ miles) and Carmarthen (19 miles), while the right side shows the distance to Cardigan (10 miles). There is a matching milestone located 1 mile east on Carmarthen Road. This milepost was not marked on the 1889 Ordnance Survey map when it was situated at the end of Glazier Row.
