Description
4 Prospect Place, along with Nos 2 and 6, is a pair of 18th-century houses located on the south side of Prospect Place. The buildings are constructed of stucco with slate roofs and feature red brick stacks at the east end. Each house is two storeys tall and has three windows, with the facades slightly stepped down from one another. The facades include cambered-headed arches that extend full-height from a raised plinth, with raised bands across the pilasters at the first-floor level, although only No 4 retains these features. The windows are primarily sash types with slate sills; however, No 2 has 20th-century replacement windows, No 4 has plate glass sashes, and No 6 features 4-pane sashes. No 2 has a central window that likely replaced a door, No 4 boasts a five-panel door with an overlight set within a rusticated stucco surround complete with a keystone, and No 6 has a 20th-century door within a circa 1930 raised stucco surround.
