Description
Llandybie National School is a symmetrical building featuring a slightly projecting two-storey main range with two windows at its center, flanked by single-storey wings on each side. The structure is made of multi-coloured coursed stone, including local stone, millstone grit, limestone, and red sandstone, with painted limestone quoins. The roofs are slate with tile ridges, and the original right wing and an additional rear-facing wing have pierced and cusped barge-boards.
The flanking wings have square-headed windows with three lights, including two windows in the left wing and three in the right wing, which has a parallel range behind it. The central cross-wing features two-light windows on the first floor, a loop window above, and a three-light window on the left side of the ground floor. There is a gabled porch projection on the right side of the ground floor, which has a cusped barge board and a two-light window with Y tracery, with the entrance located on the left-hand return.
The original upper storey of the main block has been dismantled, and a short corridor connects the two right wings outside the main block.
