Description

33 Quay Street is a terraced house featuring a steep slate roof that aligns with the eaves level of No 32, and it has large rubble stone external end stacks. The building consists of two storeys with an attic and cellar, presenting an irregular facade of four bays. There are two roof lights. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows, with no window in the right bay. The ground floor lacks a window in the left bay, has a 16-pane sash in the second bay, a door in the third bay, and a 12-pane sash in the fourth bay. Access is via two steps leading up to a four-panel door, and the house features a raised plinth. The windows have been altered since 1981, when there was a cellar opening with boarded doors beneath the right window, which has now been replaced with a small vent.

The rear wall is constructed of rubble stone and is curved, with close eaves and 20th-century concrete tiles. Each floor has a 4-pane sash window on the right side. The interior has been completely altered. In 1981, there was a mid to late 18th-century staircase with a turned middle section similar to those found in Spring Gardens.
