Description
The Plume of Feathers is a public house built in painted roughcast with a slate hipped close-eaved roof featuring red tiled ridges and red brick end stacks. It has painted raised stucco surrounds to all openings, along with a raised plinth and eaves band. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window range with a canted angle to the left. The outer bays originally had 4-pane sash windows, which have been replaced since 1981 with hardwood imitations. The centre has blank windows with painted sills. The ground floor features a central door with an overlight, a later 20th-century large 4-pane window to the left that replaced a 3-light window with transoms, and a 4-pane window to the right. There is a cellar hatch under the right window. The canted angle has a window on the ground floor and a blank rectangular panel above it. The right end wall is blank with a raised chimney breast.
Inside, the ground floor consists of a small two-room layout with a central hall and a dog-leg stair. The right room is very narrow and has a fireplace, while the left room is larger.
