Description
32 Quay Street is a two-storey building in a terraced row, now used as offices. The building dates to the 18th century and is constructed with a slate roof and a red brick stack located on the right side. The front elevation is currently unpainted and finished with roughcast rendering. It has a two-window arrangement, and is lower than the adjacent building at number 31, but similar in height to number 33. The upper floor contains two sash windows, each with six panes in the upper halves only, positioned to the left and right of the centre. The ground floor mirrors this with two similar sash windows aligned with the windows above. A round-headed archway provides access to a passage leading to Bull Lane on the right side of the building. A four-panel door, with a deep plain overlight, is located at the extreme left. A six-panel door with four moulded and two flush panels was present in 1981. The rear elevation is also roughcast, featuring a four-pane sash window, a passage entry to the ground floor, a triple casement window to the first floor on the left, and a fixed window under the eaves. The building has been wholly modernised.
