Description
This is a 2-storey, 2-bay house located at 8 Hall Street, built in the 19th century. The building is stuccoed and features a slate close-eaved roof with crested ridge tiles and a red and black decorated brick stack on the left. It has a plinth, a channelled ground floor, a moulded cornice above, and a pilaster on the first floor to the left.
On the first floor, there are two plate-glass sash windows set in chamfered and stopped openings. The ground floor has a triple sash window to the left and a doorway to the right, which includes an overlight and two steps leading up to a 6-panelled door with moulded panels. The left end wall is windowless.
There is also a memorial plaque to Brinley Richards, which states: "The Committee of the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Carmarthen, 1911 has placed this tablet here in memorial to Brinley Richards Musician and Composer who was born on November 13th 1817 in a house once standing in this street then known as Market Street. He died in London May 1st 1885."
