Description

31 The Norton is a terraced house dating from the 19th century. It features painted roughcast walls and a slate roof with close eaves and end stacks, with the right end stack raised on the end wall of No 32. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, which are offset to the left. The windows are plate glass sashes, with the upper ones located under the eaves, while the central window is blank. The entrance has a six-panel door set in an arched surround, topped with a fanlight that has three radiating petal shapes. The doorcase is in the style of a timber Roman Doric, featuring an open pediment, fluted pilasters, and dentils. The house also has a raised plinth.
