Pant-y-Bettws

Pant-y-Bettws is a 1½-storey house with a rebuilt former byre at the downhill end, constructed of rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. The original house features a square 17th-century stone stack on the right and a smaller stone stack on the left. The front of the house has four windows, with a central former entrance that has been converted into a window. Above this is a small stone tablet inscribed with the year 1750 and the initials 'M' over 'ED'. The lower storey windows have been replaced and are set under renewed lintels, while the upper storey has small windows beneath renewed lintels below the eaves. The byre end has been rebuilt with new openings, but retains a doorway in the original position of the longhouse entrance to the right of the hall stack. The rear of the house has three windows and skylights, with replaced windows.

The original entrance to the living space is next to the original hall fireplace, which still has its timber lintel. The original house is now a single room, and the sawn roof trusses are 19th-century replacements.
