Description
The annexe adjoining No. 61 (Llwynon) is an early 19th-century Georgian house that stands three storeys high with a basement and features three windows across its front. The exterior is finished with colourwashed cement render over a rubble base, topped with a gently pitched new slate roof that has flush bargeboards and plain eaves. The stone stacks have simply moulded caps.
The second floor has shallow upper sashes with nine panes in each window and plain reveals. The first floor features twelve-pane sash windows, with larger similar windows flanking a central doorcase that has panelled reveals and soffit. Above the six flush panelled door is a good segmental fanlight. The basement entrance is located below, with windows on either side; there is a sixteen-pane sash window by the steps to the left and a plain sash window in the lightwell to the right.
At the rear, the building has boxed eaves and Victorian sash windows. There is a tripartite bay window on the ground floor to the left, featuring 19th-century sashes, and a brick projection at the centre.
The forecourt is enclosed by good wrought iron railings with spearpoints set on a stone base. The annexe steps down to the right and presents a three-storey, one-window front, also finished in cement render over rubble. It has a gently pitched new slate roof and a stone stack. The second floor has a shallow two-light casement window, while the first and ground floors have Victorian sashes with plain reveals. A six flush panelled door is offset to the left, and iron railings on a stone base lead to a paved forecourt.
Inside, the building features broad six-panel doors and plain cornices. The stair hall has a broad arch on fluted pilasters and a panelled soffit, with sweeping turned stairs in an apsidal well. The building was undergoing renovation at the time of inspection in January 1988.
