Description

Llwynon is an early 19th-century, Georgian house of three storeys and a basement, originally featuring three windows. The exterior is colourwashed cement render over rubble stone. The roof is gently pitched and covered in slate, with plain eaves and flush bargeboards. Stone stacks have simply moulded caps. The upper floor windows have nine panes to each sash, with plain reveals. The first floor windows are twelve-pane sashes, and larger, similar windows flank the central doorcase, which has panelled reveals and a soffit. A good segmental fanlight sits above the six-panelled front door. Basement entrances are located below the main floor, with windows on either side; one window has sixteen panes and is accessible by steps, while another is in a lightwell.

The rear of the house features boxed eaves and Victorian sash windows. A tripartite bay window with 19th-century sashes stands on the ground floor to the left, and a brick projection is centrally located. Original wrought iron railings with spear points are set within a stone base to the forecourt.

To the right of the main house is a three-storey annexe with a single window front. It is also rendered in cement over rubble and has a gently pitched slate roof and a stone stack. The second-floor window is a two-light casement, while the first and ground floors have Victorian sash windows with plain reveals. A six-panelled door is offset to the left. This annexe is surrounded by iron railings on a stone base, leading to a paved forecourt.

The interior features broad six-panel doors and plain cornices. A broad arch supported by fluted pilasters leads to the stair hall, which has a panelled soffit. The sweeping turned staircase is located within an apsidal well. The building was undergoing renovation in January 1988.
