Description

The Millford Arms Inn is an inn constructed with painted roughcast and features a slate close-eaved roof, along with small red brick chimneys located on the ridge and at the right end. The building has a long two-storey front divided into two parts under a single roof, with a three-bay main section on the left and a two-bay service range on the right. These two parts are positioned at a slight angle to each other.

The left side of the inn includes three 12-pane sash windows above two 20th-century small curved bow windows that rest on roughcast curved bases, along with a central door. There are three steps leading up to the doorway, which is framed by panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a small flat hood above. The door itself is panelled, featuring two flush panels and four sunk panels, and there is a stuccoed plinth at the base.

The right section of the inn has two similar 12-pane sash windows above—one on the left and one on the right—and two additional windows below, one on the left and one in the centre. There is also a square-headed former carriage entrance on the right. The end wall shows marks from a former attached building to the west.

Adjacent to the inn is the former No 13 Cartlett, which is at a slight angle and was built in the later 19th century. This building has a much higher ridge line, similar eaves, and a red brick stack at the right end. It features painted lined stucco and has a one-bay front with a large first-floor oriel window, which was renewed in 20th-century uPVC, over a ground-floor triple window also in uPVC. There is a 20th-century door to the right.

The interior of the Millford Arms Inn has not been inspected.
