Description

Picton House is a building that has been converted into offices. It features painted stucco and slate roofs, with renewed horned sash windows. The narrow front facing Picton Place is two storeys high and has two bays, offset to the right. The roof is hipped to the left, and there is a brick chimney on the right side. The upper floor has twelve-pane sash windows, while the ground floor on the left has a tripartite window with 4-12-4 panes. To the right, there is a mid-20th century hardwood four-panel door with an overlight that has rectangular tracery.

A flight of steps leads down to the riverfront, which is divided into three parts and includes a full-height basement. On the right, the end wall of the Picton Place front has a three-bay elevation with 12-pane sash windows and blind windows in the centre bay, along with a modern metal shuttered basement opening. Adjacent to this is a lower link range set back between the two flanking ranges, which is two bays wide and three storeys tall. It features a 20th-century double door with marginal glazing bars and an overlight to the right, and a shuttered small window to the left on the ground floor. The first floor has a 12-pane sash window on the left, and the top floor has a 6-pane square sash above. The right side includes an arched stair light with Y-tracery in the head. At the northern end, there is a higher section with one bay and a pyramid slate roof. This section has a full-height canted window with 4-16-4 pane glazing in the upper two storeys, supported by angle pilasters and moulded cornices. The basement has two small modern windows, and there is a plain door in the right side wall. The left side wall is made of rough red brick in Flemish bond, featuring a door to the basement on the right and a window on the top floor to the right, with brick voussoirs. The rear wall is also constructed of brick.

The interior has not been inspected.
