Description
Gellideg is a house built in the late 18th century and early 19th century, constructed from colourwashed rubble stone with a slate roof and 19th-century red brick end stacks. The building is two stories high and features a three-window front that is offset to the right, with 12-pane sash windows and a central door. The ground floor openings are adorned with colourwashed stone voussoirs. The door is half-glazed and set within a later 19th-century painted brick gabled porch that has a cambered arch.
The house includes a central wing and a northeast rear wing, both with brick end stacks. The central wing has a 12-pane sash window on the south side and a long round-arched stair-light cum door to the right on the rear wall, which features intersecting tracery in the fanlight. There are five slate steps leading up to this entrance. To the right of the stair-light is a remnant of slate hanging, and the south return of the further-projecting northeast wing has a ground floor east-facing window and door.
At the north end of the main range, there is a framed plank door with a shallow slate ledge above and a 12-pane window situated above it. The wing to the left has a broad window with stone voussoirs and a 16-pane sash window above. The south end of the main range is slate-hung. Inside, there are stick-baluster dog-leg stairs and a thin timber arch above.
