Description
This is a 19th-century range of outbuildings located on the west side of the farmyard at Gellideg, constructed from rubble stone with slate roofs. The main structure is long and features lofted wings to the southeast and northwest. The taller southeast wing has a door on the east gable end to the right and a loading door above it in the center. The south side includes a window, a door, and another window, all with later 19th-century red brick heads. There are outside steps leading to the rear west end, which has one window on the ground floor to the north.
The main long range has a rubble stone lean-to at the angle of the southeast wing, featuring a stable door to the left and a six-pane window. The range to the right appears to be an addition, with a slate shelf beneath two square loft lights, a door to the ground floor on the left, followed by a window, another door, and a window. The building has timber lintels and pegged collar truss roofs with six and eight bays.
At the rear of the upper end, there is a door, two loops, and another door, while the lower end has a similar slate shelf beneath two upper windows. The northwest end of the range slightly projects, with a door to the ground floor on the right leading to a stable and loose box, and a loading door on the first floor to the left, which is blocked. The north end wall has two ground floor windows.
A large northwest addition, under a single ridge, has a slightly projecting north wall, with a first-floor loading door to the center left, a ground floor door to the left, a loop, and a rectangular opening at mid-height, possibly for shafting, along with a window, another window, and a door. This addition leads into a low ground floor with two rooms, featuring a heavy beam in the left room. The west end has a door and a small window below, with a loading door above. There is rear access to the upper floor, which functions as a barn, containing a loop, a doorway with a timber lintel, and another loop. The barn has six stapled collar trusses.
