Description
Capel Brynseion is an Independent Chapel built in 1831 and altered in 1870. The structure is made of rubble stone and features a slate roof with eaves that have brackets and crested ridge tiles. The lateral facade includes two large central sash windows with arched heads, a plaque stating 'Brynsion Adeladwyd 1831 Atgyweirwyd 1870' between them, two broad camber-headed doorways, and two outer gallery lights with six panes and cambered heads. The windows have slate sills and cut stone voussoirs. The doors are six-panel with matching three-panel fixed side pieces. There is a lean-to on the south end and six-pane and twelve-pane windows on the north end. The rear has one central twelve-pane window and two outer six-pane gallery lights.
Inside, there is a three-sided gallery supported by four marbled columns, with a panelled timber gallery front. The chapel features raking box pews and a later 19th-century balustraded pulpit with a curved front and steps on each side.
