Description

This is a mid to late 19th century range of outbuildings located on the south side of the farmyard at Trenewydd Fawr. The buildings are constructed from rubble stone and are primarily single storey, with a two storey section at the west end. The west end features a slate roof, a gable end door, and a window to the left, along with a loft window above, all of which have brick cambered heads. On the north side, there is a loft opening and a small ground floor opening.

The long range extending east has a grouted slate roof on the first third, followed by corrugated asbestos, and finally, collapsed grouted slates at the eastern end. The initial section includes a door to the right with a cambered brick head and a small window to the left, followed by a straight joint. The long eastern section has a row of brick dove-openings beneath the eaves, along with a door, a window, another door, and a concrete block addition on the right. All original openings feature cambered brick heads, and there are small brick ventilation loops in the south rear wall.

This range is part of a notably large and distinctive later 19th century farmstead, likely rebuilt after 1857, as indicated by a sale map showing a different layout. It is possible that this range incorporates some elements of the buildings that existed before 1857. The condition of the outbuildings is poor.
