Description

6-8 Dew Street is a former office and house that has been converted into flats. The building features painted stucco with a slate close-eaved roof and brick end stacks. It stands three storeys tall and has a six-window range. The top floor has an eaves band indented for the heads of six narrow plate glass sash windows. The first floor contains six broader sash windows set in moulded architraves, positioned above a moulded broad sill band.

The ground floor is divided into two sections: the former office on the left and the former house on the right. The office section features arched moulded heads with keystones, linked by a moulded impost band over rusticated piers. It has two plate-glass arched sash windows on the left, followed by a close-set pair of arched doorways with renewed panelled doors, accessed by steps; the right door is shorter and has an additional step. The house section has a tall square-headed doorway to the left of two plate glass sash windows. This doorway is also accessed by steps and is accompanied by a cast-iron Gothic short iron handrail. It features a renewed six-panel door with a plain overlight. The window heads are higher than the door head, and all three have stucco cornices on console brackets.

Interiors were not inspected.
