Description
19 Quay Street is a house built with colourwashed roughcast and features a slate close-eaved roof with two brick chimney stacks at each end of the main house range. A third chimney on the left end has been removed since 1978. The building is two storeys high and has a five-window range, which is divided into three bays for the house on the right and two bays for the service range and shop on the left. It has twelve-pane sash windows with glazing bars throughout, except for the ground floor left of the service range, which has a shop window. The house range has a 20th-century centre door, while the service range features a 20th-century door with six panes to the right of the shop window. The shop window has been replaced since 1978 and has six panes with a timber surround. The north end wall is windowless.
Inside, in 1978, there was a later 19th-century fireplace in the room to the left of the main entry, a staircase leading from the southeast corner of that room to the rear of the entrance hall, and fielded panelled doors.
