Description
This is a house located at 21 Quay Street, built from whitewashed rubble stone and featuring a slate close-eaved roof with small roughcast end stacks. The building has two storeys and is double-fronted, with a roughly central door. On the first floor, there are two 4-pane windows located under the eaves, while the ground floor has larger windows that are not aligned. The right window has its right jamb aligned and features a 12-pane sash, while the left window is narrower, set to the left of the window above, and has a plate glass sash. A ledged door is situated between the three ground floor openings, which all have brick heads. There is a roof light above each first floor window and a small lean-to on the right end wall. Projecting stones at the left corner suggest that another house was originally intended to the north. The property has not been inspected recently, but it is believed to have narrow ceiling beams and an old fireplace, as noted in a 1978 listing. The house also includes a decorative cobbled forecourt.
