Description
Gwttws is an early 19th-century single-storey cottage built from whitewashed rubble stone, featuring a renewed roof covered in small slates. It has a large whitewashed stone stack at the west end and a smaller stack on the ridge. The front of the cottage includes a small window with a timber lintel to the left, followed by a 4-pane sash window, which likely replaced the original door. There is a small 4-pane window further to the right and a half-glazed door located to the left of the ridge stack. The right end section of the cottage also has a 4-pane sash window.
Attached to the east end is an outbuilding with a lowered roof, which has been converted into accommodation and features 20th-century sash windows. Inside, the cottage has a characteristic Pencaer massive chimney breast with a timber lintel at the east end. The east end room is open to the roof, which contains 19th-century timbers. There is a croglofft with ladder access above a small 4-pane window and the entrance door.
