Description

This is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of rendered and whitewashed rubble stone, with roofs covered in slate and cemented joints. The building has a T-shaped plan, with a long wing projecting forward from the centre of the original house. The original house features a large stone chimney stack on its west end and a stone chimney stack on its east end. The wing has a chimney stack on its west-facing wall. The original house has a front door located in the angle where it meets the wing. To the left of the door, there is a 12-pane sash window, and above it, a smaller 9-pane sash window. A brick archway sits above the 12-pane sash window. The wing includes a slight projection on its west side, forming an angle with the front door, which incorporates a 12-pane stair light with a brick arch. The west end wall of the wing contains 12-pane sash windows on both floors, while the east side wall has a door in the angle with the original house, also flanked by 12-pane sash windows on each floor. A lean-to addition extends from the east end of the main range, and a single-storey former cottage is situated at the west end, featuring a grouted slate chimney stack, a small window, a door, and a window facing the front. Parts of the house were formerly clad in slate.
