Description
Caerlem is an earlier 19th-century farmhouse constructed from colourwashed rubble stone, topped with a grouted slate roof and featuring stone end stacks. The building has a two-storey front with three original 12-pane sash windows, each with cambered brick heads and slate sills. The centre of the facade includes an original six-panel door with an overlight above it. At the rear, there is an outshut, and a lean-to structure is located on the west end.
The east end of the farmhouse includes a lower two-storey service range with a large stone end stack. This section has one 12-pane sash window on the first floor, which also has a brick head, and a large hipped porch on the ground floor to the right, along with a 20th-century window to the left. The porch features a grouted roof, a window on the north front, and a doorway on the west side.
Inside, there are six-panel doors in the hall, and a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters.
