Description

The Former Rocket Apparatus Store, built around 1900, was used for storing lifesaving equipment for the coastguard, including rockets for firing ropes to ships in distress. The building is constructed of rubble stone, with some areas rendered or roughcast. It features a slate roof and a brick stack at the north end. The structure is single storey with a blind base and has a large cambered-headed opening facing the road, which is adorned with stone voussoirs and double ledged doors that have iron strap hinges. Each side of the building is roughcast and includes one window framed in yellow brick, secured with iron bars.
