Description
The Former Bonville's Court Colliery Power House was built to house steam engines that generated electricity for the colliery and may have also included pumping equipment. Originally, it featured a hipped roof, but at the turn of the century, it was modified into a smaller building. One half received a gabled slate roof, while the other half was fitted with a monopitch corrugated roof. The entire structure is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble. There are several semi-circular brick arches on the west and east elevations that are now blocked. The gabled section has two sash windows on the north elevation, each consisting of three panes by seven, and a large brick arch on the east side that was originally used for wagon access. Additionally, a bearing for a machine drive can be seen at the southwest corner of the building.
