Description
Philbeach is a roofless single chamber building featuring roughcast rubble stone walls and a massive external chimney on the west end. The chimney has a broad base that includes a grouted slate lateral outshut against the adjoining wall to the left. It then tapers into a large rounded shaft topped with a stone ring under a rounded cap. On the south gable wall, there is a lean-to with a ledged door located in the end wall to the right of the chimney. The original roof ran north-south parallel to the chimney. There is a 12-pane window on the east wall.
The chimney has an inserted pine lintel and rubble and brick infill above it. Additionally, there is a curved-headed door on the left side of the north wall.
