Description
Ty Isa Trofarth is a two-storey end chimney house built of whitened rubble, topped with a slate roof and featuring a gable parapet on the right side. The left side has a large projecting end chimney with a gabled breast and stack, which includes weather-coursing and plain capping; the original roof line is clearly visible on this side. There is a flush chimney on the right gable, also with weather-coursing and capping. The front has three bays, with a central entrance accessed through a modern slated porch. Above the porch door is an inset stone plaque dating to 1706, bearing the initials E and A D; this plaque was originally placed above the main entrance. Flanking the entrance on the ground floor are late 19th-century tripartite plain sash windows, while above them are three small four-pane sashes located under the eaves.
At the rear, there is a slated outshut that extends beyond the right gable of the main block, forming a recessed two-bay stable block. This stable block has a corrugated iron roof, with an open entrance on the left and a part-boarded modern door on the right.
Inside, the ground floor hall on the left features beamed ceilings with fine stopped-chamfered main beams and joists. There is a wide fireplace with a depressed Tudor-arched oak bressummer, which has horizontal ribbed and grooved decoration.
