Description
The barn at Ty Isa Trofarth is a large structure dating from the early 18th century, with later 19th-century lean-to additions on the right and at the rear. It is built of whitened rubble and has a roof covered with old small slates. The main entrance on the west side, facing the farmyard, features a stone-stepped plinth and retains its original pegged oak frame along with old boarded doors and an exposed timber lintel. Above the entrance is a recessed plaque, though the date or inscription is not legible.
To the far left, there is a tall entrance with boarding above it. To the right of the primary entrance, a rectangular modern window is located next to a boarded stable door, with two vent slits positioned under the eaves above. A modern lean-to addition is attached to the rear on the left side. On the right side of the main front, there is a later lean-to addition that is flush with the primary block, also covered with small slates and featuring a low boarded entrance. This addition extends around the back of the barn, has a hipped corner, and reaches halfway along the barn's length at the rear, where there is another boarded door and a small open two-light window with a mullion to the left.
The south side of the barn includes two slatted windows and a wooden shuttered window located under the low eaves. In the gable apex above, there are three vent slits. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
