Description
The building at the former Dale Airfield is a group of six "Standard 24 foot" huts that are interconnected and linked to a central ablutions block by corridors. The structure features reinforced concrete posts placed approximately 2 metres apart, which support concrete roof trusses. The roof is covered with corrugated asbestos, while the walls of the huts are made of hollow terracotta blocks.
One hut located at the rear left contains wall paintings from the 1940s. These vibrant drawings depict a variety of aircraft caricatures in humorous situations, such as getting tangled in towing wires and flying upside down. The illustrations include aircraft types like a Miles Messenger, a Vought Corsair, and an early jet aircraft, along with views of Dale.
