Description

Bay View House is a mid-18th century mid-terrace house, originally part of a matching pair with number 6. The front of the building is rendered with a rough white finish and has four storeys and two bays. It features a timber cornice with dentils and a slate roof. The windows are now modern replacements, but were originally small-paned sashes, although these were removed from the third floor by 1977. In 1977, the third floor windows retained glazing bars. The ground floor now contains a modern shop front with canted windows and a central doorway. An original rectangular doorway is located to the right, leading to a recessed 20th-century door and a plain overlight. Before 1977, an arched doorway with a pedimented surround, similar to numbers 6, 7 and 8, was removed.
