Day Centre at Ffald y Brenin Christian Retreat

The Day Centre at Ffald y Brenin Christian Retreat is a single-storey U-shaped building, constructed with slightly battered walls made primarily of re-used or found rubble stone, and topped with a slate roof. The openings either reach up to the eaves or are set under segmental brick heads, while the windows and doors feature trapezoidal heads.

To the north, facing the main building, the short outer wings serve as store rooms with full-height doors; the left-hand door is framed by an old gate pier. The main range includes a window on the right that replaces an earlier door, and the entrance is offset within a recessed porch at the angle with the left-hand wing. This porch is supported by an irregular timber post and provides access to the two main rooms.

On the south side, the building extends into the adjacent field, resting on a projecting base with stone revetment. Each facade is treated differently, with windows designed to take advantage of the views over the Gwaun Valley. The south face features a wide three-light window below the eaves and a round-headed three-light window beneath a gable on the right. The southeast wall includes a three-light half-dormer with a faceted roof profile, while the southwest wall has another wide three-light window below the eaves and a full-height door.

Inside, the building is divided into two main rooms, along with the store rooms in the wings. The main rooms have whitened walls and squared roof beams.
