Description
This building is a three-storey structure that appears to incorporate alterations from the Victorian period, based on a map dating from around 1790. The front facade is stuccoed and features two windows. The first floor has grooved detailing. The roof is slate, with wide bracket eaves and chimney stacks built of rubble and finished with brick slate. A dormer window is centrally positioned, featuring a pitched roof, slate hanging and paired sash windows. To the left is a two-storey splayed bay window with a wide cornice and panelled apron. Horned sash windows are present; those on the right have architraves that are lugged to the first floor and feature a keystone on the second floor. The shop front is of Victorian design, with gabled fascia ends, a ramped fascia and a cast-iron parapet. Fluted and panelled pilasters are incorporated. The window display is framed by colonnettes. The shop entrance is offset to the left, featuring a fanlight, a half-glazed door and a tessellated ‘doormat’. A further recessed entrance is located to the right, with a more modern door.
