Description
Regent House is a late Georgian building featuring three storeys with stucco elevations. It has two and three windows facing Great Darkgate Street, one window at the corner, and three windows on Market Street. The roof is slate with bracket eaves, and there is a cement rendered chimney stack. The windows are small-pane sash with cills; number 29 has moulded margins, and the windows on the right-hand side of the Market Street elevation have opaque glazing.
Number 29 has a modern shop front that retains one giant pilaster at the entrance, leading into a narrow hall. Number 31 features a 1930s Art Deco shop front with a modern fascia that wraps around the splayed corner, including a set-back stencilled half-glazed door, a marbled stallriser with ventilators, and a mosaic pavement. There is also a modern window to the left of the shop front on Market Street and a six-panel door to number 1.
