Description
This building at 7 Church Street consists of a pair of houses, with No 6 converted into Barclays Bank in 1924. It features painted stucco with a slate roof and rendered end stacks. The structure is two stories high and has a four-window range, showcasing hornless 12-pane sash windows with slate sills and stucco cambered voussoirs. The building has stucco quoins and paired brackets supporting the flat eaves.
No 7 includes a ground floor sash window on the right and an original six-panel door on the left, which has four fielded panels, an arched head, a traceried fanlight, and a stucco surround. Barclays Bank has an altered timber shopfront with 19th-century outer panelled piers, a bracketed fascia, and a cornice. The shopfront features a 20th-century broad central window with top-lights, a window to the left with top-lights, and a door to the right.
