Description

The Old Grammar School is a former school building constructed from rubble stone, topped with a slate roof that is partly coated in bitumen, and features stone end stacks. It is a single-storey structure with a three-window range, showcasing long arched windows that have cut stone voussoirs and keystones, with the central stone dated 1823. The glazing, which dates from around 1900, has replaced the original glazing bar sashes that featured intersecting tracery at the heads. The rear wall also had three similar windows. At the north end, there is a lower gabled section with an arched doorway on the west side, which has a modern door and overlight.
