Description

This is a formal terrace of three large houses on High Street, built of rubble stone finished with pointed ashlar and covered by slate roofs. The houses date from the 18th century, and each has four substantial stone chimney stacks. They are three storeys high and each has a three-window front. The main floor windows are 12-pane sashes, while the upper floor windows have 9 panes, slate sills, and door surrounds. The windows on the main floors have cut stone voussoirs. Each house originally had a door with an overlight.

Number 30 has altered windows to the first floor and a 20th-century front door. The ground floor has lower sashes without glazing bars. Number 31 retains original hornless sashes to the first floor and left-hand ground floor window, and has plate glass in the right-hand ground floor sash. It has a panelled door with a three-pane overlight. Number 32 has casement pairs to the upper floor, altered first floor windows, and 20th-century bowed windows on the ground floor, along with a 20th-century door and overlight. An original two-column porch remains, featuring half-column responds and a corniced flat roof supported by cast-iron columns with moulded capitals. The east end wall has bracketed eaves. A rear outshot extends from the building.
