Description
The Emporium is a house and shop built in the 19th century, featuring stucco walls and slate roofs, with a stone stack on the west end. It is two stories high and has a two-window range, with a projecting gable on the right that has decorative fretted bargeboards. The design of this gable is intended to balance, though not match, the eastern wing of the Black Lion Hotel. The gable includes a tripartite sash window with a 4-12-4 pane arrangement set in an arched recess, which is similar to the style found on the Black Lion Hotel. To the left, there is a bay with a 12-pane sash window on the first floor and deep eaves. The ground floor features a modern shopfront that spans both bays, projecting from the left side and aligning with the gable front.
