Description
Lloyds Bank is a house that has been converted into a bank. It features a large three-storey facade with three windows, constructed in painted roughcast with raised stucco details. The roof is slate, and the end stacks have been rebuilt. The windows are large 12-pane sashes with cambered heads and painted sills. The upper windows are smaller and all have shouldered surrounds in stucco, with the inner part being roughcast and adorned with a triple keystone. There is a stucco plinth and two sill courses.
The central door is set in a tall cambered-headed surround, featuring a 20th-century door and overlight, and is framed by a substantial late 19th-century Ionic porch. This porch has two fluted columns and pilaster responds positioned closely behind, along with an entablature that steps three times. The upper two steps have shallow brackets and are topped with a cast-iron railing in a lattice pattern.
To the left of Lloyds Bank, there is a low one-window bay that follows the design of No 8, The Castle Hotel. This bay includes a 12-pane sash window on the first floor and a 9-pane upper window, both with stucco voussoirs, along with a doorway below.
