Description

17 Harford Square is an end house forming part of a terraced row, with its main facade facing the square and a side elevation integrated into the terraced arrangement. The house dates to the 18th century and has a roughcast exterior. It is characterised by a low-pitched, slated roof with wide eaves. The front elevation, with three windows, is arranged over two storeys. The first floor features three original 12-pane sash windows, set within shallow segment-headed recesses. A raised platband runs along the facade, above a ground-floor window on each side of the central door. The window to the left is a 4-pane sash, while the window to the right has been replaced with plate glass. The central entrance features a four-panel door with an arched head and a radiating-bar fanlight. A raised plinth is visible at the base of the building.

The south-facing elevation, also with three windows, mirrors the front, with two first-floor windows similar to those on the front facade, and a blank central window. A raised band and plinth are present, along with a central door and fanlight, and a window set within a segment-headed recess to the right. This elevation has 20th-century glazing. A left-hand window and its associated recess have been removed to create a shop window.
