Description

The entrance gates and mounting-block at St Michael's Church are notable features. The gate piers are made of squared rubble with stone tabling and peaked cemented rubble coping. The paired cast iron gates have arrow finials and a dog-rail with similar finials, along with bracing above. The large rectangular mounting-block is constructed from rubble and has a hollow interior, which is covered by a combination of thick long stone slabs and thinner slate slabs. There are two steps at the northern end of the mounting-block.
