Description
Rhyd Isaf is a long, low building constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. It features brick end stacks that are also whitewashed. There is a small outbuilding aligned with the main dwelling, partly made from clom and covered with a corrugated iron roof. The house has a façade that is offset to the right, indicating that the left-hand room was likely the main living area, while a smaller heated parlour is situated to the right of the doorway. The façade is not entirely symmetrical, featuring a near-centre doorway with a part-glazed door, flanked by two-pane sash windows on the ground floor. Above these, there are very small single-pane windows located just beneath the eaves. The small in-line outbuilding to the right is partly constructed from rough rubble, with clom present in the gable end and a single boarded doorway at the front. Additionally, there is a smaller, later lean-to against the left-hand gable end. The house has a partial outshut at the rear, which has a heavily grouted slate roof. Although not inspected, the arrangement of the façade suggests a traditional layout with a hall or kitchen on the left and a small parlour to the right of the entrance.
