Description
Claerddu is a small house built from rubble stone, featuring a slate close-eaved roof and stone end stacks. It is one storey and has a loft, with a double-fronted design that is offset to the right. The front has two small renewed 4-pane horned sash windows on either side of the front door, with the left window being slightly larger than the right. The windows have stone slab sills and lintels. The front door is renewed and boarded, with a stone slab step leading up to it. The end walls each have a single small 4-pane sash window that lights the loft, and there is a 20th-century boarded lean-to addition on the northeast end to the right. At the rear of the house, there is a single ground floor window and a renewed 4-pane sash stair-light.
The interior has been renovated to serve as a mountain bothy. Downstairs, there is a small benched seating area in the parlour on the right and a dining/kitchen area on the left, which features a brick chimney breast, a range, and a bread-oven. A timber staircase is located in the center of the house. The first floor contains two rooms.
